Wine Tasting Walking Tour in Old Town Chania

This is a must-do wine-tasting tour you should do when you first arrive in Chania! Deciding where to eat on vacation is one of the most important decisions you’ll make, and we’ll show you exactly where to go for brunch, the best spots for lunch, a bunch of dinner spots at all budgets, and of course where to grab a glass of wine. 

On this wine tasting walking tour you’ll see the highlights of Old Town Chania, stroll through the Venetian Harbor, and neighborhoods where the locals hang out. Most importantly,  you’ll try 7 different Cretan wines from local wineries so you’ll know what varieties you like and should order for the rest of your stay. Along the way, we’ll point out our favorite food, wine, and cocktail spots. 

We meet at Anassa Boutique Hotel and Cafe on the Old Venetian Harbor. Here you’ll learn a bit about wine tasting while sipping 2 wines with a direct view of the lighthouse.  A small snack accompanies the wines. Your guide will point out our favorite spots for lunch, dinner, wine and cocktails along the harbor.

Kritamon Wine Bar & Restaurant is our next stop where you’ll taste 2 more wines with a snack. You’ll be enchanted by the small little streets behind the harbor, or as we call them “ta stenakia.”

Next, we’ll walk to Splantzia Square, a neighborhood with tremendous historical significance. Two more Cretan wines are sampled with a small snack paired with it.   

Last stop is at a local wine shop to taste one last wine, a sweet dessert wine made in the ancient liasto method. Here you can shop for any wines you liked throughout the wine tasting tour.  

The Wine Tasting Walking Tour in Chania is offered on Wednesday at 11am. 

Price per person is 60€.
