Farm-to-Table Lunch at Dourakis Winery

A lovely private wine-tasting and traditional Cretan lunch at Dourakis Winery.

Dourakis Winery is one of the most picturesque wineries in Crete, so make sure to be camera-ready. They grow organic grapes and the winery is powered almost entirely by the sun. This sustainable approach is applied to the delicious ingredients they grow for our lunch.

Learn all about Cretan wine and the history of Dourakis Winery as we travel to the mountains to the winery. We will privately tour the grounds, the herb garden, the farm, and head into the wine-making areas. We’ll learn how wine is made, how sparkling wine is made, and walk through the labyrinth-style wine cellars that are built into the mountain.

In the tasting area, we’ll sample 5 different wines from indigenous Cretan varieties. We’ll do a guided tasting and learn how to properly taste wine and identify each wine characteristic. 

A traditional lunch follows; Cretan salad, appetizers, and a main course. And, of course, something sweet to finish our meal. Lunch is served with any wine of your choice.  

Duration is 4 hours.

This tour includes pick up from your accommodation in Chania Town and surrounding areas.
