Wine Adventure Tour

Highlights of the Wine Adventure Tour

We greet  you at 9:30am from your hotel or villa in Chania.

As we head west to the cave of Saint John the Hermit, you will learn about the history of Crete and how it has affected the culture and wines. We explore the cave and churches and can drink the healing holy water.

Time for the olive oil tasting! A short drive away is BIOLEA ESTATE olive oil mill where we will taste and  learn how they make their award-winning organic stone-milled  cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil. You’ll also learn what to look for on a label to be sure you’re getting high quality olive oil. The views from the mill are fantastic and a great place for pictures.

Next we stop at the oldest olive tree in the world! With our newly acquired information about the olive oil process, we can better understand the methods and equipment we find in the museum.

It’s time for wine tasting! We head to the vineyards of Karavitakis Winery for a walk among the grapes.  Receive an in-depth explanation of viticulture and history of the vineyards of Crete. You will also learn how to taste wine like a professional. Six wines are sampled and an ample snack is served.

We save the best for last! A privately guided tour through Manousakis Winery where you will learn all about winemaking. Explore the fermentation floor and the barrel room before we taste through the most awarded wines of Chania. A full lunch with appetizers, salad, and main dish, and dessert is served with as much wine as your heart desires!

Finally, with a full belly (and a slight buzz!) we return you safely to your accommodation in Chania.
